When: Sunday, June 19th, 1:00 p.m.

Where:  The Old Deerfield Summer Craft Fair

In the Blue & White Society Room of the Deerfield Teachers’ Center

Chef Michael Collins of Mike & Tony’s Pizzeria at Green Emporium in Colrain

Baker Christa Snyder of 2nd Street Baking Co. in Turners Falls

 

Rules of the Contest:

·      Please DO NOT bring pies which need to be refrigerated.

·      Please bring your pie in a disposable pan.  We cannot be responsible for any pie pans that break.

·      Pies must be entered in the name of the person who made it.

·      An entry form and full list of ingredients must accompany all entries (one entry form per pie.)  For Entry forms click here.

·      The day of the contest (Sunday, June 19th) please bring all pies and entry forms to the entrance gate of the Old Deerfield Craft Fair between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., where participants will receive free admission to the craft fair.  From the entrance gate you will be directed to bring your pies to the Blue & White Room of the Deerfield Teachers’ Center.  All pies must be received no later than 12:15 p.m.

·      The judging will begin at 1:00 p.m.  The judging criteria will include overall appearance, crust, taste, creativity, and use of local ingredients.

·      There will be 3 prizes awarded in each category.  Any ties will be decided by the tie-breaking judge.  The decision of the judges is final.

·      The remainders of the pies may be picked up immediately following the close of the competition.  Any pies not picked up by the close of the fair (at 4:00 p.m. on June 19th) will become the property of PVMA.

 

We will also have a “Taste of Franklin County Cookbooks” sale that day, featuring cookbooks from several churches in Franklin County.  All proceeds from that sale will benefit the participating churches.
